Yippee ki-yay – Die Hard to celebrate 25th anniversary with Blu-ray collection

Fans of iconic action hero John McClane have just been given another reason to look forward to 2013. The fifth instalment of the franchise, A Good Day to Die Hard, is out in cinemas in the spring, and now 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment has announced a five-disc Blu-ray set to commemorate the series’ 25th anniversary.

Hailed as one of the greatest and most influential action movies of all time, the original Die Hard introduced the world to Bruce Willis’ John McClane, a trash-talking NYPD officer who takes on a group of master criminals in the now famous Nakatomi Plaza skyscraper. The following films in the series have followed McClane as he takes on increasingly dangerous and ambitious foes.

The box set will contain all four films in the series along with a fifth disc entitled Decoding Die Hard. This will contain several all-new features and documentaries looking at every aspect of the Die Hard saga.

The box set is due out in the US in late January – when a European release is confirmed we’ll let you know. In the meantime, head over to Blu-ray.com for more details.
