Winter is coming… again? Game of Thrones: Season Six heads for Blu-ray

The latest series may be over, but that doesn’t mean the excitement has stopped: HBO has announced plans to release season six of the epic Game of Thrones series on Blu-ray in November in the US, with a European release expected shortly after.game of thrones

The medieval fantasy drama is the most watched show in HBO’s history and one of the most talked about TV events of all time. In the sixth season, Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) attempts to rule Meereen while Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) is held captive by a Dothraki tribe, Bran (Isaac Hempstead Wright) learns more about his powers from the Three-eyed Raven (Max von Sydow), the High Sparrow (Jonathan Pryce) becomes more powerful by influencing King Tommen (Dean-Charles Chapman) and the Stark and Bolton armies meet on the battlefield. The episodes are: ‘The Red Woman’, ‘Home’, ‘Oathbreaker’, ‘Book of the Stranger’, ‘The Door’, ‘Blood of My Blood’, ‘The Broken Man’, ‘No One’, ‘Battle of the Bastards’ and ‘The Winds of Winter’.

The box set includes several special features including The Battle of the Bastards: An In-Depth Look –  a behind-the-scenes piece examining the production challenges behind one of the show’s most impressive battle sequences; Recreating the Dothraki World – a behind-the-scenes piece looking at the creation of Vaes Dothrak and its importance to Dany’s evolution; and 18 Hours at the Paint Hall –a documentary following three shooting units on an average day on set.  It also includes audio commentaries and four deleted scenes.

With a longer wait than usual for Season 7 to start, you might need something to satisfy your GoT itch – so what better reason to relive one of the show’s most epic seasons yet.
