Walt Disney Home Entertainment has revealed a list of over 30 catalogue Blu-ray titles that it plans to release this year.
The first half of the year will see the following titles all get a Blu-ray makeover – Father of the Bride, Father of the Bride Part II, Cocktail, Ransom, Sister Act and Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit. The remaining half of the year sees the release of Blu-rays such as Under the Tuscan Sun, High Fidelity, Judge Dredd, Arachnophobia, Flubber and While You Were Sleeping. The full list of releases is available at Blu-ray.com, and are all scheduled for US releases with European dates expected to follow.
While the technical and supplementary specifications are still unknown for most of them, Disney’s EVP of product management Lori MacPherson noted that:
“We receive many requests and comments from consumers seeking specific titles they’d like to own on Blu-ray and, as such, we carefully selected a number of popular films that will satisfy demand from fans worldwide…As we grow our Blu-ray catalog we will continue to utilize the best technologies to provide the most pristine and immersive in-home experience of our films.”
