Two Disney classics set to make their Blu-ray debut

On August 6th, Disney is marking the anniversary of two classic films taken from English folk legends – The Sword in the Stone and Robin Hood – by releasing both on Blu-ray. Both films will be presented in re-mastered 1080p, with DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound.

This year is the 50th anniversary of The Sword in the Stone, Disney’s adaptation of the Prince Arthur tale. This animated classic follows young orphan Wart’s quest to become King after an encounter with the wizard Merlin and his pet owl Archimedes.  The Blu-ray will include a brand new bonus feature, offering fans an alternative opening sequence.

This summer Robin Hood is also celebrating its 40th anniversary with a Blu-ray release. Disney created a quirky all-animal version of this well-known tale of a noble Englishman who robs from the rich to give to the poor. The Blu-ray version will come with a Robin Hood Storybook and Art Gallery, as well as some sing-a-long extras.
