To whet your appetite for the remake of Total Recall hitting the big screen this summer, Lionsgate Home Entertainment will release a new ‘Mind-Bending Edition’ of the original starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sharon Stone. A release date is yet to be announced but we’ll let you know when its confirmed.
This thriller follows the story of Doug Quaid (Schwarzenegger) and the intergalactic adventure he undertakes after he visits Rekall, a corporation that specializes in custom memory implants.
Lionsgate’s Blu-ray presents the film in its 1.85:1 original aspect ratio – which boasts a new, director-supervised high-def transfer taken from the original negative – with 5.1 DTS Master Audio. It also includes a mixture of features such as a commentary with Arnold Schwarzenegger and director Paul Verhoeven, two behind the scenes featurettes and a photo gallery. It also boasts two features exclusive to the Blu-ray – an interview with Paul Verhoeven and a restoration comparison featurette showing off the film’s new HD look.
