A fortnight ago we brought Dr Who fans the fantastic news that Series Six: Part One is set to make its Blu-ray Disc debut on July 19th. Followers of spin-off show Torchwood are also in luck it seems. Warner Home Video and BBC Video have announced Torchwood: The Complete UK Series will also be available on Blu-ray Disc throughout Europe on July 19th.
Following the intergalactic exploits of Captain Jack Harkness (John Barrowman), the fantasy adventure series sees the Torchwood team delving into the unknown and fighting the impossible on a weekly basis.
The final details of this new BD collection are yet to be finalised, but for now it’s been announced the set will include all episodes from series 1-3 across 12 discs, and over 10 hours of extras.
Both Torchwood and Dr Who have been a runaway success not just on UK shores but right across the globe. American audiences have been so enamored with the show the eagerly anticipated fourth series has been largely funded by a US production company. Due to hit our screens this summer, the latest adventures are set to feature Hollywood stars Mehki Phifer and Bill Pullman, a sign that the franchise is going from strength to strength.
