Studio Canal has announced Tomas Alfredson’s Cold War thriller Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy is set for a Blu-ray Disc release on 30th January 2012.
Featuring the supreme acting talents of Gary Oldman, Colin Firth, Tom Hardy and John Hurt, the acclaimed adaptation based on John le Carré’s spy novel sees M16 agent Smiley (Oldman) investigate intelligence that suggests there is a mole at the centre of the service’s London headquarters. Smiley soon finds himself drawn back into a web of betrayal and deceit in an effort to unmask the double agent who has fooled him and his colleagues for decades.
A whole host of extras await viewers on the Double Play pack, including in-depth audio commentaries with Oldman and Alfredson, plus interviews with le Carré and the movie’s screenwriter Peter Straughan. A variety of featurettes give audiences special insights from the stellar cast and Oldman fondly recalls bringing to life one of literature’s most intriguing characters.
