Series one of the painstakingly restored classic 70s cop show about the Metropolitan Police’s Flying Squad will be available from 10th September – two days before the highly anticipated 2012 remake starring Ray Winstone, Damien Lewis and Ben ‘Plan B’ Drew hits the big screen.
The Sweeney broke new ground and reinvented the British police drama genre when it first came out and inspired a generation of TV and film writers, paving the way for modern classics such as Life on Mars.
