The Hunger Games to score big on Blu-ray

Set to make a serious splash when it touches down on Blu-ray Disc later this year, Lionsgate has confirmed an extensive list of bonus features for The Hunger Games, which promises to give fans a 360 view of the epic blockbuster. To date, an official European release date has not been confirmed, but rest assured when it is, we’ll be the first to let you know!

Set in the future, Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) is forced to participate in The Hunger Games, an annual competition which sees 24 individuals pitted against each other in a controlled arena and forced to fight until only one remains. With some participants having prepared for this their entire lives, Katniss must use all her courage to survive the impossible.

Arriving with over three hours of extensive bonus materials the Blu-ray will include a comprehensive eight-part documentary called The World is Watching: Making of The Hunger Games, alongside interviews with the cast and director Gary Ross and numerous features examining the global success of the books, the creation of the film’s Control Room and the decision to create new scenes not included in writer Suzanne Collins’ original novel.

According to Executive Vice President and General Manager Ron Schwartz, it will be the biggest home entertainment launch in Lionsgate’s history, so we think that this is one Blu-ray worth waiting for. Excited? We certainly are! Visit Movie Hole for more details on what to expect. We’ve also included the trailer below for you to enjoy.
