One of comedy critics’ favourites from 2012, The Campaign is set to launch on Blu-ray next Monday.
Described by The Daily Mail and Time Out as “laugh-out-loud funny”, the Campaign follows Cam Brady (Will Ferrell) of North Carolina’s 14th District as he runs for his fifth term unopposed. However his campaign is scandalised after an affair with one of his supporters is revealed. As Cam’s poll ratings tumble into freefall, his opponents see the writing on the wall and pitch Marty Huggins (Zach Galifianakis), a local ‘wholesome’ guy, against him. At first, Marty appears a political dead weight, but as The Campaign gains momentum, he and Cam use increasingly underhand tactics to out-do each other.
The Blu-ray version is jam-packed with special features, including an extended cut with a “line-o-rama” feature demonstrating Ferrell and Galifianakis’ ad-libbing skills, deleted scenes and gag reel. As if that wasn’t enough, the Blu-ray is also set to feature commentary from the actors and an alternative ending.
