The Blu-ray Disc Association’s Best of Blu-ray 3D

This year’s summer of sport will see many major sporting events filmed, and in some cases broadcast, in 3D for the very first time. To mark this occasion, the Blu-ray Disc Association has put together a selection of the best Blu-ray 3D titles to take advantage of your new 3DTV. We’re featuring the first half of the list for you on the blog today and will follow up with the second half next Friday so stay tuned!

 

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 3D

The final instalment in the colossal franchise sees Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson, reprise their roles as Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger in an almighty 3D showdown which seals the fate of the wizarding world forever. Bonus features give added insight into the last part of this world renowned series with deleted scenes, ‘When Harry Left Hogwarts’ documentary, interviews with the cast and crew, Maximum Movie Mode functionality and much more. Beautifully capturing the romance between young socialite Rose (Kate Winslet) and penniless drifter Jack (Leonardo DiCaprio), two passengers on board the ill-fated maiden voyage of RMS Titanic, the BD promises drama, mystery and unforgettable performances from its stellar cast. John Carter 3D

From Oscar–winning filmmaker Andrew Stanton, John Carter is a 3D action adventure story set on Barsoom, the exotic and mysterious planet we know as Mars, starring Taylor Kitsch and Willem Dafoe. Based on the Edgar Rice Burroughs classic novel, John Carter is the story which inspired many of the most imaginative and well known Hollywood movies, past and present. If you missed it in the cinema, you can see this epic adventure in high definition 3D in your own home, when it gets released in July.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Journey 2: The Mysterious Island 3D

Picking up where 2008’s Journey to the Centre of the Earth left off, Journey 2 sees Josh Hutcherson venture to a legendary uncharted island with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Vanessa Hudgens.
