Since the launch of the Blu-ray format, fans have been waiting for 20th Century Fox to release the Alien Quadrilogy box set in high definition. But now the wait is almost over, after Fox confirmed a release date of 26th October.
According to Fox, the four Alien films have been “reinvigorated for an intense Blu-ray high-definition viewing experience.” The box set includes two versions of each film and over four hours of previously unreleased, exclusive material such as Sigourney Weaver’s original screentests for Alien, unseen deleted scenes, thousands of still photographs from the Fox archives and the previously unobtainable original cut of Wreckage and Rage: The Making of ALIEN3.
It also takes advantage of Blu-ray technology by incorporating the MU-TH-UR Mode, an interactive feature that lets you access the special features on all six discs and provides an index of all available content.
In all, the box set contains a whopping 60 hours of special features and over 12,000 images, making it one of the most highly anticipated Blu-ray releases ever.
