Saturday Night Fever is bringing disco back to Blu-ray with new Director’s Cut

Forty years after it was first released, the immortal Saturday Night Fever is coming back to Blu-ray, released as a new Director’s Cut on 2nd May.

Telling the story of a Brooklyn kid with no prospects who simply lives for Saturday night, Saturday Night Fever accurately captured the angst of the time. So much so, that the film is still having an impact on popular culture today. Starring John Travolta, who received an Oscar nomination for his performance, and featuring music from the Bee Gees, Saturday Night Fever is just as spectacular as you remember.

This Director’s Cut has been restored in glorious 4K and includes updated surround sound. A number of scenes have also been added, rounding out the characters and the plot. The Blu-ray includes both the Director’s Cut and the theatrical version of the film, as well as commentary by director John Badham, a five-part look at the film, behind-the-scenes featurettes and more.
