High-concept TV drama Revolution, another smash hit from the mind of J.J. Abrams, is heading to Blu-ray later this year, Warner Bros has confirmed. The first season is due to hit US shelves in September, with a European release to follow.
Revolution imagines a scenario where all electricity across the globe mysteriously stops working. Picking up 15 years after the lights went out, the show follows a family of survivors struggling to find an explanation for the blackout, set amongst a backdrop of warlords and militias fighting for control of the new USA. The show stars Twilight actor Billy Burke, Tracy Spiridakos and Elizabeth Mitchell, with great talent behind the scenes too. As well as being created and produced by Star Trek and Star Wars director J.J. Abrams, the first episode is also directed by Iron Man director Jon Favreau.
The Blu-ray Set will include all 20 episodes from the first season, along with making-of featurettes, deleted scenes, webisodes, gag reel and an exclusive set of interviews filmed at the 2013 Paley Festival.
