Pioneer Electronics has just unveiled its latest BDXL Blu-ray Disc Drive, the BDR-206MBK. It’s the first BDXL drive for Windows-based personal computer, giving users 128GB of storage per BDXL disc.
A Pioneer spokesman said, “BDXL more than doubles the current maximum Blu-ray disc storage capacity and is ideal for various commercial uses such as video and broadcast archiving and storage, capturing and playback of high-definition programming, or data archiving needs.
Alongside enhanced recording accuracy and artificial noise limitations, the BDR-206MBK can read virtually all disc formats, including CD, DVD, BDXL and BD allowing for simple recording and playback. A new airtight structure also protects burning discs from warping during the writing process, and it comes bundled with Cyberlink software so it can be put to work straight out of the box.
