Paul Thomas Anderson’s Inherent Vice coming to Blu-ray soon

Inherent ViceInherent Vice is the seventh feature from Paul Thomas Anderson and the first ever film adaption of a Thomas Pynchon novel. The film is set in Los Angeles in the psychedelic 1970s. Larry “Doc” Sportello, private investigator and “pothead”, receives a visit from his former girlfriend Shasta Fay Hepworth, now having an affair with the real-estate mogul Mickey Wolfmann. Shasta asks Doc to help foil a plot allegedly hatched by Mickey’s wife Sloane and her lover, Riggs Warbling, to have Mickey admitted to a mental health institution. The plot takes numerous twists and turns and includes surfers, hustlers, dopers and rockers, a murderous loan shark, LAPD Detectives, a tenor sax player working undercover and a mysterious entity known as the Golden Fang, which may only be a tax dodge set up by some dentists…

It’s a highly entertaining comic noir romp with a star studded cast, including Joaquin Phoenix, Josh Brolin, Owen Wilson, Katherine Waterston, Reese Witherspoon and Benicio Del Toro.

Inherent Vice will hit Blu-ray later this year with an array of special features. We’ll let you know when a release date is confirmed.
