Those mischievous Monty Python boys are set to crack us up all over again with the news that Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has plans for a 35th Anniversary special edition of Monty Python and the Holy Grail on Blu-ray Disc. A European release is yet to be confirmed, but we’ll let you know when we hear otherwise.
A regular comedy favourite of many, this parody of King Arthur’s quest to find the Holy Grail follows the absurd challenges Arthur (Graham Chapman) along with his squire (Terry Gilliam) face in their quest. The Knights of the Round Table, including Sir Bedevere the Wise (Terry Jones), Sir Lancelot the Brave (John Cleese), Sir Galahad the Pure (Michael Palin) and Sir Robin the Not-Quite-So-Brave-As-Sir-Lancelot (Eric Idle) are also recruited as the pack encounter various perils, including the relentless Black Knight and deadly rabbit of Caerbannog.
The BD is set to include a colossal array of bonus features including various commentaries from the cast, outtakes, educational videos, a BBC Film Night feature, photo galleries and various behind-the- scenes shorts on the different characters and their obstacles.
