IFA 2011 round-up: Part one

Image of LG HX906TX_500 Blu-ray playerThe tech fans amongst you might have been aware of the annual IFA conference which took part in Berlin earlier this month. It’s where all manner of consumer electronics manufacturers come together to showcase their latest products. Over two posts this week we’ll be giving you a round-up of the latest Blu-ray gear on show at this year’s IFA.

First up is LG, which revealed its HX906TX (see image) – an all-new Home Theatre System which boasts groundbreaking 360º sound via its 9.1 speaker system. The HX906TX also offers 3D Blu-ray playback in full 1080p HD, while various Smart TV functions also provide online entertainment options. For more info on this, visit LG’s website.

Not to be outdone, Japanese giant Toshiba announced details of its two new BD players, the BDX 1250 and BDX 2250. The BDX 2250 offers on demand access to YouTube, BBC iPlayer and Picasa, while the BDX 1250 delivers striking Blu-ray playback at a bargain price.
