LG showcased a range of exciting 3D devices at IFA this year, from TVs to home cinema entertainment systems, including a prototype 180-inch 3D plasma screen. Below are the Blu-ray related highlights:

The world’s first THX 3D certified plasma

The PX990 is the first 3DTV to receive THX 3D certification, the ultimate recognition for cinema-quality presentation. The PX990 boasts active 3D technology and has full HD resolution. It also has the capability to convert 2D content into 3D. This will be available from October in both 50 and 60 inch models.

31-inch 3D OLED TV

Showcased as a prototype at IFA, this TV is wafer thin at just 2.9mm. And, with OLED technology, the TV boasts brilliant colour, with 600hz picture processing and full HD 1080p resolution.

BD players/ Home Cinema Systems

LG also launched two new 3D home cinema systems – the HLX55W and the HX995TZ to complement their first 3D compatible Blu-ray player, the BX580.
