If you go “Into the Woods” today you’re sure for a big surprise. Mainly the best of Brothers Grimm’s fairytales, deliciously and sumptuously served up on Blu-ray.
Into the Woods, in cinemas now, reminds us why our perennially favourite childhood fables have stood the test of time; because there’s enough high drama, tension, magic and enchantment to last us a lifetime. And even more so when set to music – thanks to Tony award winner James Lapine and legendary composer Stephen Sondheim.
The film follows the classic tales of Cinderella (Anna Kendrick), Little Red Riding Hood (Lilla Crawford), Jack and the Beanstalk (Daniel Huttlestone), and Rapunzel (MacKenzie Mauzy)—all tied together by an original story involving a baker and his wife (James Corden & Emily Blunt), their wish to begin a family and their interaction with the witch (Meryl Streep) who has put a curse on them.
It’s in cinemas now, but Disney will release Into the Woods on Blu-ray on May 18th. We’ll share further details when they are announced – but in the meantime, check out the trailer below.
