HBO has confirmed that the third season of its hit fantasy epic Game of Thrones will be hitting US shelves in February next year. A European release date hasn’t yet been confirmed but is likely to follow very soon after.
The third series of Game of Thrones picks up in the fictional Seven Kingdoms of Westeros and follows the struggles among the realm’s families for control of the Iron Throne. Largely based on the novel A Clash of Kings, the latest instalment racks up the drama, action, political intrigue, romance and shock plotlines from the previous seasons to culminate in a jaw-dropping final episode.
The special features for the Blu-ray have not yet been announced, however fans now have the opportunity to choose the Blu-ray box art on the Game of Thrones Facebook Page. Fans can pick from show favourites Peter Dinklage, Kit Harington and Emilia Clarke to appear on the cover alongside the older Starks, Targaryens and Lannisters.
