Tim Burton’s reworking of the classic horror story Frankenstein is to be released on Blu-ray on 8th January. Frankenweenie depicts the story of an eleven year old boy trying to reanimate his beloved dog Sparky.
The Blu-ray version of Frankenweenie is sensitively shot in black and white to pay homage to the classic horror films that influenced Burton’s early career, but will also be released with a 3D Blu-ray version to remain relevant to a contemporary audience. Burton proves that you can teach an old dog new tricks and the film has received rave reviews from the Daily Telegraph, Timeout and The Guardian.
The 3D Blu-ray and Blu-ray versions include an all-new original short “Captain Sparky vs. The Flying Saucers”, an exciting behind-the-scenes featurette with Tim Burton, a showcase of the film’s touring exhibit and Burton’s original live-action short which inspired the final movie.
