Strap yourself in and get ready for one hell of a ride…
MTV.com recently caught up with Drive Angry director Patrick Lussier to discuss the movie’s impending Blu-ray Disc release throughout Europe on July 4th. Amongst the topics covered, key details on the BD were discussed including the adrenalin fuelled bonus materials and rip-roaring action sequences.
For those of you unfamiliar with the title, Nicolas Cage stars as Milton, a ghost who escapes from hell intent on saving his granddaughter with the help of his beautiful sidekick Piper, played by Amber Heard.
Commenting on what he hoped viewers would enjoy about the BD experience, Lussier commented on the special features on offer – in particular the deleted scenes:
“The one with Bill Fichtner is sort of a cool, sexy little scene and it was the only one we cut with Bill. It’s a really fun and it’s great to include. It also has this incredible almost sort of game show-like Mayhem Meter with all the people that Nic’s character kills throughout the film.”
MTV also pressed him on the ‘Full-Access’ feature which enables viewers access to behind-the-scenes interviews at key points during the film:
“It has all the interviews with myself, Todd, Bill Fichtner, Amber and Billy Burke and even members of the crew…I’ve never seen anything like it, it’s really cool and very well done.”
