Arrow Films has announced that Donnie Darko, the 2001 cerebral drama, is getting an exclusive Blu-ray re-release to celebrate its fifteenth anniversary.
Featuring Jake and Maggie Gyllenhaal, Patrick Swayze, Drew Barrymore and a very young Seth Rogen, Donnie Darko tells the iconic story of a troubled teenager with an imaginary friend who appears in the form of a giant rabbit called Frank. When Frank begins prophesising about the end of the world, Donnie must try to distinguish between what’s going on inside his head, and what is reality.
The limited edition comes with a whole host of special features, including a 4K restoration of both the theatrical cut and the director’s cut, audio commentary by Jake Gyllenhaal and others, a short film, a production diary, storyboards and much more. A must-have for cult cinema fans.
