David Cronenberg’s latest cinematic outing, Cosmopolis, is heading to Blu-ray after wowing audiences at Cannes and attracting critical acclaim earlier in the year.
The film focuses on finance billionaire Eric Packer, played by Robert Pattinson (better known as teenage heart-throb Edward Cullen), driving across town in his luxurious limousine to get to a haircut appointment. Of course, this being a Cronenberg film, things aren’t quite so straightforward as his journey turns into a series of stop-start interruptions. From presidential visits and rioting, to unexpected encounters with Packer’s ex-wife and an unshakable feeling that someone is out to get him, what starts out as a simple errand takes a significantly darker turn.
Cronenberg’s typically surreal journey across town will be available in crystal clear high-definition on 8th October in the UK, with other European regions to follow.
