Calling on all British comedy fans! The World’s End, the final scoop of the hilarious “Three Flavours Cornetto” trilogy from cult director Edgar Wright and stars Nick Frost and Simon Pegg, will be served up on Blu-ray next Monday 25th November. And, as if that wasn’t enough, the epic trilogy, featuring all three Cornetto flavours; Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead and The World’s End, will also hit Blu-ray in a combo pack the same day.
From the creative team behind legendary Channel 4 sitcom Spaced, these laugh until you cry comedy classics are arguably among the funniest British movies ever made. The latest new release and trilogy finale, The World’s End stars Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Paddy Considine, Martin Freeman and Eddie Marsan as five friends who reunite to complete “the golden mile”, a pub crawl in the sleepy town of Newton Haven. However, something isn’t quite right in Newton Haven, and it soon becomes clear that this group of unlikely heroes will need to fight for their lives against an army of marauding robots who have invaded the town.
As you might have guessed, The World’s End Blu-ray will be jam packed with special features almost as good as the movie itself, and we were particularly excited to see cast, technical and feature commentaries with Edgar, Nick and Simon, on top of a whole host of bonus footage, including deleted scenes, rehearsal footage, alternate out takes and edits.
The World’s End is definitely worth checking out, as in the words of Robert Downey Jr., “if you’re not already an Edgar Wright fan then you are about to be one”. For more info, click here to get the latest on the release from Edgar’s very own blog.
