Cinema classic ‘The Great Gatsby’ hits Blu-ray in November

Once again a classic piece of cinema will be transferred onto high-definition Blu-ray. The beauty and the sadness of Jack Clayton’s 1974 ‘The Great Gatsby’, based on F. Scott Fitzgerald’s novel of the same name, has been lovingly restored and will be available as a Blu-ray release in the UK on 12th November, with the rest of Europe to follow.

One of the most renowned novels of its time, The Great Gatsby was successfully adapted into the film starring Robert Redford as Jay Gatsby. Clayton captured the spirit of growing America during the early 20th century, and the increasingly dramatic events surrounding Gatsby and his world of wealth. Now in pixel-perfect high-definition the memorable scenery, emotive characters, and Redford’s unique performance of Gatsby himself is even more special.

With the world waiting with bated-breath for Baz Luhrmann’s interpretation in 2013, starring none other than the unfaltering Leonardo Di Caprio as Gatsby, this Blu-ray release means we’ll be able to directly compare these giants of cinema as they deserve to be seen.  For more info, visit blu-ray.com.
