Cox stars as former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill in the days leading up to the infamous Allied D-Day landings in Normandy, France, in June 1944. Scarred by events of the First World War, Churchill is reluctant to embark on a large-scale campaign – especially one which the balance of the war hangs on. While his indecision leads him to clash with his Allied political opponents General Dwight D. Eisenhower and British Field Marshall Bernard Law Montgomery, he finds comfort in is wife, Clementine, who inspires him onto greatness.
Churchill is directed by Jonathan Teplitzky (The Railway Man, Marcella) from an original screenplay by British historian Alex von Tunzelmann (Medici: Masters of Florence) in her feature debut.
