Blu-rays for the Weekend: The stars of the Twilight Saga

Today marks a major milestone for the hugely popular Twilight Saga as Breaking Dawn Part 2, the final feature adapted from the original books, hits the big screen. The series has been responsible for establishing a range of new stars, but none more so than the central trio of Edward, Jacob and Bella. So this weekend, we thought we’d take a look at some of the other titles they have to offer on Blu-ray.

Cosmopolis

Robert Pattinson caused a stir when he chose Cosmopolis, a complex drama from legendary director David Cronenberg, as one of his first roles since breaking through to the mainstream.  Set across a 24 hour period in New York, Pattinson plays a rich asset manager making his way across town in a limousine. But it’s no ordinary trip: with Manhattan preparing for the visit of the President of the United States, things soon start to go wrong for Eric.

If you missed Cosmopolis in the cinemas and you fancy an unpredictable, challenging drama, check out the Blu-ray. Special features include an in-depth documentary on the making of the film and interviews with the cast and crew.

Into The Wild

Kristen Stewart makes a fantastic early impression in Into The Wild, a drama based on the true story of Christopher McCandless, a young man (played by Emile Hirsch) who leaves his middle class existence to live in the Alaskan wilderness. Stewart plays Tracy – a teenage singer who has a crush on the young adventurer.

Into The Wild is an inspirational and at times tragic journey of self-discovery that shouldn’t be missed, and one whose landscapes look incredible on Blu-ray.

Abduction

Those in the Team Jacob camp might prefer Abduction, Taylor Lautner’s first post-Twilight leading role. The action thriller sees ordinary teenager Nathan (Lautner) find his life turned upside down when he spots his baby picture on a missing persons’ website, and soon a world of secrets and espionage opens up around him.

Abduction on Blu-ray sees Lautner explode onto the screen with real impact, and makes a perfect treat for teenage fans of the wolfpack.
