Blu-rays for the Weekend: Origin stories

The latest installment in the X-Men franchise – X-Men Apocalypse – launched in cinemas across the country on Wednesday.

Starring James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult, X-Men Apocalypse is the ninth film set in the X-Man universe, and focusses on the origins of the mutants. In the film, an ancient mutant – known as Apocalypse – wakes after being in hibernation for thousands of years. Disgusted at how the world has changed, he decides to wipe humanity off the face of the planet and start again. Only the X-Men can stop him once and for all.

Star Trek
