The Wolverine has its origins in the original, epic Chris Claremont-Frank Miller comic storyline set in Japan. So this week we wanted to talk about other Japanese flavoured films. Which are your favourite movies from or set in the land of the rising sun? Are you a fan of classic Manga animation like Akira, or Hayao Miyazaki’s work (including the Academy Award winning Spirited Away)? What are your best Hollywood live-action movies set in Japan – such as Lost in Translation, Babel, The Last Samurai or Letters from Iwo Jima? Or do you prefer original Japanese films – from the iconic horror of The Ring or Ju-on: The Grudge to the shocking action of Battle Royale? Let us know your thoughts below.
As ever, remember to leave your Twitter details with your comment. Good luck!
