Blu-ray Monday – The Doctor Who 2015 Christmas Special

Dr WhoThis week, we’re giving away a brand new Blu-ray copy of Doctor Who – The Husbands of River Song, the 2015 Christmas Special.

The Doctor, played by Peter Capaldi, is spending his Christmas trying to avoid carol singers, comedy antlers and danger. Of course, this being The Doctor, avoiding danger is impossible. He finds himself responding to the distress call of a crashed spaceship, where he gets mistakenly involved in a frantic race across the galaxy with River Song, who doesn’t recognise him despite them being married at one point. But that’s time travel for you…

Starring alongside Capaldi is Matt Lucas, Greg Davies and Alex Kingston, who resumes her role as River Song.

The Blu-ray will come with the feature length episode, as well as two special features: Doctor Who Extra and The Adventures of Riversong.

As usual you have two chances to win. For your first entry, just click on the tweet button above. Then for a second entry, leave a comment below in response to the following question:

Peter Capaldi is the twelfth Doctor, succeeding the very popular Matt Smith, David Tennant and Christopher Eccleston, all of whom have held the part since the series’ reboot. Rumours began circulating towards the end of last year that Capaldi’s tenure may already be nearing its end. One rumour is that Game of Thrones star Richard Madden may be next to hold the key to the TARDIS. If you could choose the next Doctor, who would you cast?

Do you think Madden could do it? Or maybe you’d prefer one of his fellow Game of Thrones cast members, like Peter Dinklage or Kit Harrington? Or should they go down the comedy route and cast somebody like Jack Whitehall, or an American, like Rob Delaney? Of course there’s always scope to cast a female Doctor, especially as Joanna Lumley played the part in a Comic Relief special in 1999. Could she return?
