For this week’s Blu-ray Monday, we’re giving away a brand-new copy of The BFG, Steven Spielberg’s heart-warming adaptation of the classic children’s novel by Roald Dahl.
Starring Mark Rylance, Ruby Barnhill and Bill Hader, The BFG tells the story of ten-year-old Sophie, who befriends a Big Friendly Giant. Though terrified at first, Sophie soon realises that the giant is gentle and charming, and is just looking for a friend. However, their friendship soon attracts the unwanted attention of Bloodbottler, Fleshlumpeater and other bloodthirsty giants. This leads the unlikely pair on a journey to Giant Country, and back again to London, to seek help from the Queen herself.
The Blu-ray comes with a number of special features, including a making-of, a look at the original drawings of The BFG, an exploration of the giants’ language, and much more.
As usual you have two chances to win. For your first entry, just retweet this tweet and follow us on Twitter. Then for a second entry, leave a comment below in response to the following question:
The BFG is an all-time-classic children’s story, retold through the eyes of one of the world’s most famous directors. But it’s not the first children’s novel to be reimagined, so what’s your favourite? Maybe it’s a Dr. Seuss tale such as The Lorax, The Cat in the Hat or The Grinch? Perhaps it’s Tim Burton’s take on Alice in Wonderland or Charlie and the Chocolate Factory? Where the Wild Things Are was another welcome shot of nostalgia. You could also pick another Dahl classic, such as Fantastic Mr. Fox. Whatever you choose, let us know in the comments below.
As usual, remember to leave your Twitter handle with your comment. Good luck!
