It’s Monday, so that can only mean one thing – another Blu-ray Monday competition! This week the prize is Olympus Has Fallen, the action thriller which sees Gerard Butler attempt to save Aaron Eckhart’s US President after terrorists storm the White House.
Hailed by critics for its exhilarating action sequences, Olympus Has Fallen was quickly billed as “Die Hard in the White House” – and it’s easy to see why. Gerard Butler gives one of his best performances to date as his one-man army takes on wave after wave of terrorists to save both the President and the entire USA from a terrible fate. Directed by Training Day’s Antoine Fuqua, Olympus Has Fallen also co-stars Morgan Freeman and Ashley Judd in supporting roles. You can watch the trailer here.

This year two movies are bringing action to the White House – Olympus Has Fallen and the forthcoming White House Down. It was also famously destroyed in a number of Roland Emmerich disaster movies, including Independence Day and 2012. But what are your favourite movie moments featuring global landmarks – and which others would you like to see as settings for movies? Would you like to see Die Hard’s John McClane take on the next generation of Grubers in London’s The Shard? Tom Cruise took Mission Impossible to Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, but could he scale the Eiffel Tower? Could James Bond chase his foes through the corridors of Buckingham Palace? Let us know what you think!
As ever, remember to leave your Twitter details with your comment. Good luck!
