Like many of you, because of the Easter holiday last weekend we’re launching our Blu-ray Monday competition today. With the spirit of a Royal Wedding in the air we’ve decided to celebrate this most regal of occasions with a fortnight-long giveaway to win a copy of The King’s Speech. That means there’ll be no new competition next week, but this one will continue for twice as long as usual.
Easily the most talked about British movie of 2011, having scooped a whole display cabinet of Academy Awards, Golden Globes and Baftas, (including Oscars for Best Actor, Best Director and Best Film), The King’s Speech has touched the hearts and minds of audiences around the globe. Charting the rise of King George VI (Colin Firth) this touching film examines his hidden struggle to overcome a lifelong stutter with the help of speech therapist Lionel Logue (Geoffrey Rush).
As usual with Blu-ray Monday, you have two chances to win. For your first entry, simply retweet the following post on Twitter: Tweet this
Then for a second entry, leave a comment on this post to the following question:
A few weeks ago we asked you about your most-loved movie quotes and were blown away with the fantastic responses! So bearing this week’s prize in mind, we thought we’d ask you what your favourite film monologues or speeches are. Does Mel Gibson’s stirring Scottish battle call, ‘They may take our lives, but they will never take our freedom!’ make it to the top of your list? Perhaps Bill Pullman’s presidential rallying cry from Independence Day inspires you, or maybe you’re a sucker for Colin Firth’s confession of love in Bridget Jones, ‘The thing is, what I’m trying to say very inarticulately is that in fact, despite appearances, I like you. Very much’. Go ahead and let us know!
To make it easier for us to contact you, leave your Twitter details with your comment. We look forward to your suggestions…
