Following successful events in Milan and Prague, the Blu-ray Disc film festival arrived in Brussels on October 28th for a series of presentations and briefings with media from the region.
Flemish and Walloon journalists alike were in attendance, including national daily newspapers Het Laatste Nieuws, De Morgan¬†and De¬†Tijd, as well as a broad range of technology and lifestyle magazines such as DVD Bizz, Gentleman, Femmes d’Aujourdhui and Playstation Magazine.
The day’s programme opened with a screening of a new demonstration video outlining the key benefits, features and upcoming attractions on the Blu-ray Disc platform, followed by presentations from the Benelux Blu-ray Disc promotion group and analyst GfK Belgium on the current success and future outlook for the local BD market. Next was a presentation from Niels Leibbrandt, chairman of the BDA’s European Promotions Committee, about international developments in the world of BD. Journalists were then treated to dinner before leaving with a new BD player and selection of discs.
Coverage of the festival has appeared in several national dailies and is expected in other attending publications in the following weeks.
