Based on the real-life love story between star and cowriter Kumail Nanjiani and his wife, The Big Sick arrives on Blu-ray on 19th September.
Also starring Oscar winner Holly Hunter, Emmy winner Ray Romano and Zoe Kazan, The Big Sick is based on the real-life courtship between Nanjiani and cowriter Emily V. Gordon. The story begins as Kumail connects with grad student Emily after one of his stand-up comedy sets. What begins as a night of passion blossoms into a meaningful relationship, throwing a spanner into the works as his traditional Muslim parents would prefer he chose another. As Emily becomes stricken with a mysterious illness, it’s up to Kumail to navigate the crisis with Emily’s parents who he’s never met, all while dealing with the emotional tug-of-war between his parents and his heart.
The Blu-ray release of The Big Sick includes all-new bonus content, including two behind-the-scenes featurettes, audio commentary with Kumail and Emily, deleted scenes, and more.
