Since its announcement back in July, the Back to the Future Trilogy’s Blu-ray Disc box set has become one of the most anticipated releases of the year.
Ahead of its release later in October, BigPictureBigSound has had a sneak preview of all three films and the bonus content. 25 years since its original theatrical release, the picture quality on Back to the Future is praised, with reviewer Chris Chiarella saying it is outstandingly remastered for this high-definition edition. The DTS-HD Master Audio is also described as a treat.
In terms of bonus content, BTTF fans will be delighted with the range of exclusive BD extras on display. Universal’s “U-Control” Bonus View content is available at several points during the films, including a Trivia Track, picture-in-picture storyboard comparison and featurettes examining the various “Setups & Payoffs that span the entire trilogy. Of particular interest to die-hard fans will be some never-before-seen footage featuring Eric Stoltz in the Marty McFly role, before Michael J Fox was eventually cast.
The Back to the Future Trilogy will be available in the UK and across Europe starting from October 25th. Check out BigPictureBigSound for their full verdict.
