This week, we’re giving away a brand new copy of The Big Short, the Oscar-nominated black comedy starring Brad Pitt, Christian Bale, Ryan Gosling and Steve Carell.
The Big Short tells the true story of a group of investors who identified the impending 2008 financial crash before it happened. Betting against the market, the investors looked to capitalise on the housing bubble and win big when everyone else lost.
The Blu-ray comes with a number of special features, including a look at the casting, deleted scenes and a glimpse into how the production team recreated the look and feel of the era.
As usual you have two chances to win. For your first entry, retweet one of our competition posts. Then for a second entry, leave a comment below in response to the following question:
The Big Short is known for being historically accurate, detailing the events surrounding the 2008 financial crash. Of course, there are plenty of films out there based on true stories, but which is your favourite and why? Perhaps you loved Leonardo DiCaprio’s portrayal of high-flying banker Jordan Belfort in The Wolf of Wall Street, or maybe Russell Crowe’s performance in Captain Phillips? Maybe 127 Hours, Apollo 13, Argo or The King’s Speech takes the top spot for you? Or is it something we’ve missed? Either way, let us know in the comments below.
