It has been confirmed that the legendary residents of Bedrock, also known as The Flintstones, will be making their way back to the screen in a new animated cartoon as part of a collaboration with WWE. So in honour of this announcement, we thought why not catch up on some other animated classics this weekend, all available in high definition on Blu-ray.
The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn
Based on the series of classic books by Hergé, the beautifully animated adventures of Tintin, Snowy, Captain Haddock as well as Thompson and Thompson unravel as they investigate the mystery of the long lost Unicorn ship. Sure to excite adventurers young and old, this film lends itself nicely to a Blu-ray release thanks to its stunning special effects and sublime storytelling. If you have a 3D TV, make sure you pick up the 3D version!
This gloriously enchanting movie follows Cinderella, a beautiful and kind hearted girl who is forced into servitude by her wicked step-mother. With the animals of the house as her only companions, Cinderella’s dreams of escaping come true when an invite to a royal ball arrives. Cue a sprinkling of Disney magic from her fairy godmother and a race against time to win her Prince’s heart. The film combines Disney’s brand of impeccable high definition remastering with bonus content including an introduction by Diane Disney Miller, behind-the-scenes featurette The Magic Of The Glass Slipper: A Cinderella Story and an alternate opening sequence.
Boasting fantastic levels of picture and sound quality, this heart-warming tale follows Lady, a pampered pedigree pup, and Tramp, a scruffy but soft-hearted mutt, who find themselves thrown together when Lady ventures out of her comfort zone into the big wide world. The Blu-ray is packed with immersive bonus content for the whole family including deleted scenes, a look at the animation techniques, songs and storyboarding, and the featurettes Lady’s Pedigree: The Making Of Lady and A Perfect Little Lady: The Story Of Lady And The Tramp.
