You can still catch it at the cinema, but Lionsgate has confirmed that Spring Breakers will officially hit Blu-ray on July 9th.
This edgy movie follows Brit (Ashley Benson), Faith (Selena Gomez), Candy (Vanessa Hudgens) and Cotty (Rachel Korine), a close-knit group of friends desperate to let loose at Spring Break. Unfortunately, as college students the girls are broke, so they hold up a restaurant for cash and then head to the beach in a stolen car for the party of a lifetime…until they’re caught. The friends find themselves bailed out by Alien (James Franco), a local rapper, drug pusher and arms dealer, who lures them into the city’s lurid criminal underbelly.
The Blu-ray version includes special features to keep the party going, including a three part documentary – Breaking it Down: Behind Spring Breakers – on the film making, breaking convention and Spring Break itself. In addition, Lionsgate have teamed up with VICE magazine to bring you the edgy featurette An Inside Look at the ATL Twins and Real Life Partying in Panama City Beach.
