Set in rural Virginia during the Prohibition era, Lawless is the true story of the Bondurant brothers, who set up as bootleggers but soon find themselves under threat from the authorities who want to cut off their profits. Lawless is a modern take on the classic gangster movie and showcases how the American dream was already beginning to go wrong – before it even existed.

Since the release of Inception, Tom Hardy has become one of the UK’s biggest stars, appearing as Bane in box office smash The Dark Knight Rises and now set to replace Mel Gibson in the role of Mad Max later this year. Back in 2011, Tom Hardy won the BAFTA Rising Star award following his scene-stealing turn in Inception. Nominations for this year’s Rising Star award were announced this morning and we wanted to find out which actor or actress you think will be the next to hit the big time. Maybe it was previously unknown actor Suraj Sharma for his performance in the Life of Pi, or perhaps you were impressed by Andrea Riseborough‘s performance in Shadow Dancer? Or perhaps it’s someone who’s not on BAFTA’s list at all!
