Lionsgate Home Entertainment is set to release the Dirty Dancing Collection on Blu-ray in the US this May. As yet, no European release date has been confirmed but keep your eyes peeled on Blu-ray.com for more info.
The Dirty Dancing Collection includes the original 1987 classic starring Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey as well as the 2004 sequel, Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights with Romola Garai and Diego Luna. Dirty Dancing follows the story of a naive girl (Grey) who meets an experienced dance instructor (Swayze) and becomes his pupil both in dance and in love. The sequel is set in 1950s Cuba and portrays the tale of American teenager Katey Miller (Garai) and her move to Havana with her family where she meets waiter Javier Suarez (Luna) who befriends her and teaches her Latin dance and way of life.
The technical and supplementary specifications for this two-disc Blu-ray package are still unknown but are expected to be announced soon.
