Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced it is set to release political thriller The Ides of March, by director-star George Clooney, on Blu-ray from February next year.
Featuring an all-star cast ranging from Hollywood’s man of the moment Ryan Gosling to acting heavyweights including Philip Seymour Hoffman, George Clooney and Maria Tomei, the film follows the trials and tribulations of a young campaign staffer in the Ohio Democratic primary who finds himself immersed in a sleazy world of politics after he acts upon disturbing news he learned about a presidential candidate. The film offers a gripping portrayal of American politics at a time it faces some of the biggest challenges in its history.
A whole host of extras are in store for viewers of the Blu-ray combo pack, including a commentary with George Clooney and co-writer/producer Grant Heslov. It also offers a number of insightful behind-the-scenes featurettes, including a look at the origins of the movie, interviews with George Clooney and cast members and a look at the life of a real-life political consultant.
