Star Wars: The Complete Saga has officially become the fastest selling Blu-ray of all time, shifting one million copies since it was released just over a fortnight ago. Both sides of the Atlantic welcomed the launch with stunts and spectacles, including London’s famous BT Tower being turned into a giant lightsaber to mark the occasion.
Fans right across the globe have waited years for a comprehensive, high definition version of all six films and on 12th September that day officially arrived. With global sales topping £54 million so far, Kayleen Waters, Senior Director of Marketing at Lucasfilm commented:
‘Once again our fans’ enthusiasm to celebrate Star Wars continues to amaze us. Our goal was to deliver a premium product that they could enjoy with their family and friends and we are thrilled that they are enjoying it as much as we hoped they would.’
The nine disc set contains over 40 hours of bonus content including new documentaries, deleted, extended and alternate scenes and never before seen archive footage alongside a whole list of other features hosted by none other than C-3PO, R2-D2 and Luke Skywalker.
