Back in May we bought you the news that Doctor Who: Series Six, Part One was time travelling across the galaxy and landing on Blu-ray. For those that grabbed themselves a copy, you’ll be pleased to know that Series Six, Part Two will follow this autumn. If you’re yet to treat yourself to any then fear not as Doctor Who: The Complete Sixth Series on Blu-ray will be released around the same time too.
Starring Matt Smith, Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill, both Blu-ray packages present the TV hit mastered in 1080i with 5.1 DTS-HD HR sound. Series Six, Part Two has 270 minutes of material spread over two discs, as well as Monster Files featurettes on the Antibodies and the Cybermats.
Doctor Who: The Complete Sixth Series has a running time of 645 minutes (over six discs) and includes all thirteen episodes of the series. While the BBC hasn’t detailed the full roster of content, the previously available Doctor Who: A Christmas Carol special will be included. Other extras include the Meanwhile in the Tardis feature (seven newly filmed scenes telling what happens between the episodes), Doctor Who Confidential featurettes (an inside look at each episode), Monster Files featurettes (which get under the skin and inside the minds of the new Doctor’s most challenging opponents) as well as audio commentaries and a Trailers and Trails feature.
Doctor Who: Series Six, Part Two will be released on October 10th, with Doctor Who: The Complete Sixth Series expected shortly after.
