20th Century Fox has announced a new feature that will appear exclusively on the company’s Blu-ray Disc releases from October this year.
Blu-ray viewers will already be well familiar with the digital copies of films that often appear in Double Play or Triple Play packs. 20th Century Fox has now announced that it is expanding their functionality to allow viewing on the Android smartphone and tablet platform.
20th Century Fox’s Vincent Marcai said: “Given its strong growth as a mobile operating system, the support for Android is an important move for us because it further enhances Blu-ray Discs as the best way to get your movies to all your screens.”
The first Blu-ray Disc to offer the new feature will be X-Men: First Class, which hits Europe in October. For more details, see ZDNet.
