For this week’s Blu-ray Monday we’re giving away a copy of the Oscar winning boxing tale The Fighter.
The early biopic of Massachusetts boxer Micky Ward (played by Mark Wahlberg) scooped two of the most sought after statues at the 2011 Oscars. Best Supporting Actor went to Christian Bale for his turn as Micky’s washed up brother Dicky and Best Supporting Actress to Melissa Leo in her role as the boys’ manipulative mother. Arriving with a knockout thud on Blu-ray, this movie is guaranteed to draw you into the intensity and excitement of the ring with its powerful script, superb direction and stunning picture quality.
As usual with our Blu-ray giveaways, you have two chances to win. For your first entry hit the tweet button at the top of this post. Then for a second entry, leave a comment on this post to the following question:
The Fighter packs a serious punch in the action stakes but for this week’s competition we’d like to know what your favourite film fight sequence of all time is. Are you a fan of CGI or do you prefer your movies raw and real? Does Tarantino’s Bride high-kicking her way through the Crazy 88 do it for you in Kill Bill? Perhaps Neo’s kung fu air-bending antics in The Matrix trilogy take your top spot? Or maybe you prefer your action to stay in the boxing ring ,with Sly Stallone’s Rocky or Russell Crowe’s Cinderella Man?
