Star Wars Episodes I-III
With the excitement surrounding Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Rogue One, it can be easy to forget that it’s not the first time the Star Wars franchise has had a reboot.
In 1999, fantasy fans all around the world were excited to hear that we’d finally get the prequel series we’d been waiting for. In Episodes I-III, we learn about the origins of Darth Vadar and Obi-Wan Kenobi, as well as how the terrifying Death Star came into existence.
Ewan McGregor stars in all three films as Obi-Wan Kenobi, one of the seminal charaters of the franchise.
You can own all three prequel films on Blu-ray as a boxset. Each comes with its own audio commentary by the actors and George Lucas – the creator of Star Wars.
The Impossible
Based on the tragic Tsunami that devastated Thailand in 2004, The Impossible follows the epic tale of one family’s fight for survival.
Ewan McGregor and Naomi Watts star as Henry and Maria, who travel to Thailand on holiday with their three children. At first, they are drawn in by their idyllic surroundings, however in the distance, a low rumble is heard. It soon transforms into a roar, as it soon becomes clear that one of nature’s most destructive forces is moving towards the shore: a tsunami. After being swept away and separated, the family must fight for survival as they attempt to reunite with one another.
The film comes with a number of special features, including deleted scenes, a look at the casting of the movie, and documentary about the film’s stunning special effects.
Moulin Rouge
Ewan McGregor gets hot and steamy in Paris with Nicole Kidman in Moulin Rouge, directed by Baz Luhrmann.
Set in 1899, a young writer, Christian, finds himself in Paris during the city’s Bohemian revolution. Taken in by the glamour of the Moulin Rouge club, he is captivated by one of the dancers, Satine. However, her affections are also coveted by the club’s patron, The Duke. A dangerous love triangle follows, set again the backdrop of Paris at the turn of the century.
Moulin Rouge looks fantastic on Blu-ray, thanks to Luhrmann’s saturated style of directing. The film also comes with a number of special features, including commentary by Luhrmann, a making-of documentary, and an extended shot of the famous dance scene.
